Take the Train to the Court and Home Again

Beginning in September 2010, the LIRR instituted a new program to assist Jurors assigned to courts in Riverhead. There is a new schedules designed to get jurors from Deer Park, Brentwood, Central Islip, Ronkonkoma, Medford and Yapank to Riverhead before 9 am. And, there are trains leaving Riverhead for points West at both 1:21 and 3:58 pm. If you get assigned to a case that first day and cannot make the last train home, the Commissioner of Jurors will make sure you get driven home.

Suffolk County Transit runs buses to each of these stations, mostly in a timely manner. They are as follows:

To the Deer Park Railroad Station:
S-27: From Babylon and West Islip
      S-33: From Massapequa, Amityville, Lindenhurst

To the Brentwood Railroad Station:
      S-45: From Bayshore and Smithtown
      S-41: From Northport and Commack
